HLS-35E, our State of the Art solar powered roadway lighting system is offered in two models: standard output (equivalent to a 150-200 watts) HPS street light source in terms of visibility and roadway coverage or the HO (high output version) that "Doubles" the light intensity. The HO version can be programmed to come on at full power at sunset, reduce its brightness automatically to standard output to prevent light pollution at non peak hours and
resume full HO output precisely 2 hours before sunrise.
Depending on geographical location, HLS-35E will provide a reserve capacity of 4 to 5 days of reserve power in inclement weather of up to 14 hours operation per night.
HLS-35E does not utilize "cold cathodes" (a generic form of fluorescent lamps) used in indoor residential applications, nor LED`s (whose reflected light intensity is not yet adequate with current technology to meet roadway requirements,) but utilizes an arc lamp similar to conventional HPS roadway lighting.
Currently the most compact and lightest in weight, HSL-35E at a 20 feet mounting height will provide a pole spacing of 100 feet between poles, is vandal resistant (nothing is connected to the ground except the pole,) and is designed to amortize over a minimum of 25 years (warranty of solar panels) with a life expectancy of well over 30 years.
Installed weather conditions ranges from the wet Pacific Northwest to the mountains of Afghanistan. Naturally sunny California/Florida and States in between, Iraq (Middle East) etc. is certainly is not an issue.
