| The common misconception concerning a solar powered product that does not work is that its failure can be attributed to "bad weather" or "an act of God."
This excuse is farthest from the truth.
A correctly designed solar powered product is dependable; it should be more reliable than the grid since the sun's presence every day around the World is the most reliable integer to this equation! No brownouts or blackouts. Ever.
However there are many variables to this equation that have to be considered if a product that is to rely solely on the sun is to perform just as reliably as the sun. At Eagle-1 Mfg. we not only make use of the past 30 years of weather data –
12 months of the year to determine what is expected (as in weather forecasting) but also take into account the
"worse case scenarios" which usually occur in winter when the days are shorter and nights are longer
(even at the equator.)
Additionally, we not only factor in the sun's duration but also its intensity on "every point on earth," using reliable solar insolation data from our data base and algorithms, the site's cloudiness index, micro-climates, shading from buildings, trees / vegetation, etc. to guarantee performance.
Only after all such parameters are taken into account and extensive electrical load calculations made, can one expect a product (which is solely dependent on the sun for its energy) to perform with the reliability we expect.
After all, there are those who still believe that the Earth is flat…and hence a simple "one size fits all" will do.
Such simplicity is not the standard Eagle-1 Mfg. holds to its solar powered products.
